Both are styles are Global phone etiquette that show the recipient that you are a professional individual. ********************************* Improper Phone Etiquette: Hello, how are you?And you actually pause to wait for a reply before you ask for a person or identify yourself. This is a standard Telemarketer ploy/script, so if you don't want someone to hang up: Speak up! Or Hello, is (insert name) there?(and then immediately launch into)I wanted to know if you were available today? Caller will wonder who you are & why you are refusing to identify yourself. If your identity is to remain secret, then what will happen when you meet? Should the recipient of your call simply refer to you as caller #325 or just know you are Law Enforcement?
